ZAP N’ MAP combines the shelf life extending capabilities of our MAP system with the sanitization of our PUV to further extend the shelf life or fresh foods.  We can now influence the quality of the food product going into the package.

Why ZAP N’ MAP™ ?

While SLB MAP packaging is a great method to extend shelf life, we always had to use the disclaimer “bad product into the package will result in bad product coming out of the package.”  While MAP packaging will slow down the growth of most food bugs, we can’t kill these bugs with MAP alone.  By adding ZAP (PUV) we can positively influence the quality of the product that goes into the package.  These two processes together can give you as the processor a strong intervention technology that will allow you to rest easier knowing that you will dramatically reduce the possibility of a recall that could permanently effect your company.
